Enigma Auto Electric vehicle bikes company has unveiled three new electric bikes

Enigma Auto, a strategic business unit of Enigma Electricals, was set up in 2011 with the aim of building energy saving vehicles as an alternative to conventional fossil fuel powered vehicles. With soaring petrol prices. Enigma Auto intends to offer economical mobility for the masses.

The person Gulshan Batra, Director, Enigma Auto, said,“With a continuous hike in the fuel prices we decided to penetrate into the market of electric two-wheelers which indeed is a logical extension, as we believe that electric automobiles are the future of transportation. The company unveiled three electric bikes called, Intense, Crescent and Muscular, all powered by the same 250-watt electric motor that gives the bikes a top speed of 25km/h. The battery pack consists of four lead acid batteries which take six to eight hours to be fully charged and the bikes run 50-70km on a full charge. The company claims that a full charge consumes one unit of electricity which means an expense of Rs 5 for 50-70km which is truly economical.

All the three models features drum brakes both front and rear and telescopic front forks. Safety features include an anti-theft alarm and a motor lock system. An industry first is the cruise control in the electric bike segment.

The biggest drawback of these bikes is the life of the battery which is expected to last around two years. A new battery pack costs Rs 9,000. On the plus side, servicing costs will be minimal as an electric motor requires very little maintenance and the battery pack has a one-year warranty.
